TELECOMMUNICATIONS BASIC PRINCIPLES

Basic knowledge of telecommunications is how that information can be sent and received by both

Basic science is what makes the science of telecommunications, In this modern era have had the information exchange process is very important and can not be separated from each individual, with on behalf of the rights of every human being to obtain information on the exchange of information into one new primary requirement for human, Though separated by distance, with knowledge of telecommunications we can still make the process of exchanging information so that the distance at the present time has not become obstacles in information exchange.

Along with the development of this science, has also developed various communication devices that support, like cell phone (cellular) communications tool has become a primary requirement , almost everyone around the world have this tool, another example is a one-way communication media Television, Television is one of the most effective form of communication and influence the world, then enter a more modern era have internet again, a glimpse of the Internet, the Internet is a collection of networks from around the world are focused on the server, through this internet multimedia information can spread rapidly throughout the world in a matter of time seconds

Coverage of Telecommunication

I'm going to be three parts, namely the sender, channel and receiver

SENDER

actually how the sender  can send information trough channel?

this is simple question whish mybe more complicated to answer it

In this process the signal information obtained in the form of analog signals, then the signal is processed so that information can be sent through channels - channels either through channel wireless (cordless) or via cable media (on wire).

In the process of data transmission through the medium of air (wireless) prior to the first amended information in other forms, to make this change, the necessary process of modulation, modulation of the mixing process between the signal information with carier signal, now the question is, why should modulated first ? here are several reasons and things that cause modulation process becomes very important, among others:

  •   In the process of signal modulation occurs shifting process information
  •   λ =  c / f imageaccordance with this equation, the signal also increases its range
  •  accordance with that formula, The physical size of the sending antenna is also changing wide of   antenna  parabolic is = λ/4
  •   With the modulation signal also will be more resistant to noise

There are important things that must be considered in the process of modulation, the carrier signal (carier) must be greater than the information signal, why is that? In principle, the information signal superimposed on carier signal, so it can dianaloogikan like passengers in a car, if the size is smaller than passenger cars so passengers can enter, but if the passenger is an elephant ride in excess of the car, certainly would not fit and can not perform the delivery process.

Modulation itself has two types of analog and digital modulation, after modulai process then the data will be sent either by air or through cable media, the discussion modulation of various data transmission process will be reviewed further in the next chapter, the data transmission.

Channel

There are two types of channel it's wireless (cordless) and onwire

- wireless

This channel for utilizing electromagnetic waves can transmit data to a recipient, is an understanding of wireless channels that use air as a medium of signal propagation of information, so that signals can be transmitted through the medium of additional tools are needed air antenna, the antenna has many types that can transmit antenna type information signal among others:

  •     Antenna wire
  •     Antenna aperture Aperture Antenna
  •     Antenna microstrip Microstrip antenna
  •     Antenna array Antenna arrays
  •     Antenna reflector Antenna Reflector
  •     Antenna lensa Lens antenna

Wireless is the form most frequently used channels because it has several advantages that are not owned by onwire types, some of the advantages gained include:

  •     Reach Further
  •     More efficient, if than the use of common cabling
  •     The process of data transmission can be broadcast
  •     Mobile acces Mobile Access
  •     Handling the channel more easily because it depends on the transmitter, the transmission field, and
receivers

There are so many examples of wireless communication, such as cellular communications, satellite communications, radio communications and much more, because the wireless using the working frequency in order to communicate, to the world's telecommunications institute has arranged to be able to communicate pengguaan frequency, frequency distribution itself can be seen in the following table:

Band Designation Frequency Range

3  –  30 Hz   Very low frequency

30  –  300 kHz  Low frequency

300 kHz   -  3 MHz Medium frequency

3  –  30 MHz  High frequency

30  –  300 MHz  Very high frequency

300 MHz – 3 GHz  Ultra high frequency

3  –  30 GHz  Super high frequency

30  –  300 GHZ Extremely high frequency

Much more discussion in the wireless, this discussion would be included in the next chapter

Onwire

Onwire channel is a channel that uses the media to be able to communicate with the cable, the cable itself has many types, among others:
a. Telephone cable 600 ohm.
b Cabel TV antenna for B & W 300 ohms.
c.  75 ohm coaxial cable, 50 ohms etc.
d..Dua parallel plates.
e..Mikrostrip.
f. Tri-plate line.
g.Waveguide (rectangular) and circular
h.Fiber optic

each cable has its own characteristics, which need diperhatika is the value of damping (attenuation) of each - each channel, both channels have little attenuation, the above description of the cable will also be explained in the next chapter because it is very much for the cable itself

Recipient

On the receiver side, almost like the sender, the recipient must have the ability to translate the signals captured both through the air as well as signals received through cable media, if the captured signal propagating through the air propagation media at the receiver antenna device that uses electromagnetic signals can be received and then translated by some tools, this tools include demodulator, filter and amplifier

For the captured signal from the cable media also use the demodulator to convert received signals and process until the translation of several signals into information signals.

This description is only a very brief description of telecommunications, this description only covers the basic essentials of telecommunications purposes, still need studies and reviews to discuss every detail of telecommunications.
